Wooden Pen & Pencil Features
Dave's Wood Goods handcrafts Red Oak wood ballpoint pens and mechanical pencils in 3 handsome and distinctive styles: Slimline, Designer and Cigar.
Pen and pencil blanks are cut at a 15 degree angle to maximize grain pattern exposure. The finishing process includes a Walnut stain, a sealer and a micro-crystalline wax polish that gives each pen and pencil a soft sheen and does not show finger marks. All 3 styles come in 24kt Gold plating which gives these writing instruments a rich and luxurious look.
Individual pens and pencils come in their own crystal clear plastic display tube which measures: ¾" x ¾" x 6".

Slimline Style
Wood Pen and Mechanical Pencil
My most popular pen/pencil style, the Slimline, has the smallest diameter and is therefore the most delicate writing instrument. The pen uses a dependable twist mechanism for extending and retracting the pen point and the pencil is operated by pushing down on the plunger to extend the pencil lead. All hardware is gold plated and the clip is accented with a black stripe. Length: 5 1/8"

The Slimline style pen includes a black ink Cross® style cartridge which can be purchased at many office supply stores. The cartridge is removed by pulling the upper and lower portions of the pen apart and then unscrewing the cartridge from the lower portion.

The Slimline style pencil contains an eraser and extra .7mm that can be accessed by removing the gold cap plunger. If lead does not advance properly, gently pull exposed short piece of lead out of the mechanism and continue to pump pencil plunger until a new piece of lead is exposed. |

A Designer style pen/pencil is based on classic European styling, with superb balance and comfort. Dependability and performance are ensured because of the exceptional quality components that are used in construction. The gold plated center band is accented with a black stripe around its center. Upper portion: 14mm, Lower portion: 11mm

As with the Slimline pen, this pen features a twist operation and comes with a standard, black ink, style Cross® cartridge. The ink cartridge can be removed by pulling the upper and lower portions of the pen apart and then unscrewing the cartridge from the lower portion.

The Designer pencil uses .7mm lead and is stored in the mechanism. To access extra lead, pull upper and lower portions of the pencil apart and pull out the black storage plug. Slide out a fresh lead, replace storage plug and push upper portion back on to lower portion. Unscrew the gold tip and pull the lower portion off of the pencil mechanism. Twist the mechanism forward until gripper and pilot extend out. Retract until gripper is flush with the thread and gently push new lead slightly into gripper. Twit mechanism back until the lead is completely inside. Slide mechanism back into lower portion, screw tip on snug and extend the lead. |

The Cigar style pen and pencil is perfect for those who prefer a hefty, more masculine looking writing instrument. The black & gold accents add style and elegance to this unique twist pen and pencil. The black accent bands compliment gold plated areas while the "nut" shaped end cap adds a distinctive characteristic. Length: 5 5/8" Approximate diameter:

The pen has a 2-way twist mechanism that allows the user to extend the point by twisting the pen in either direction. This pen comes with a black ballpoint Parker® style ink cartridge. The ink cartridge can be replaced by unscrewing the upper and lower portions of the pen (no need to pull apart the upper and lower portions) and removing the cartridge from the lower portion.

Slide out a fresh lead, screw the upper and lower portions together, then twist and hold upper and lower portions while inserting the fresh lead. To extend lead, gently twist upper and lower portions back and forth. The eraser can be exposed by pulling apart the upper and lower portions. |
